Review of 1999/2000 Objectives

  • 1 Further improvement and simplification of paperwork – made better use of technology

2 Review the engineering content in Primary Schools – 3%lower. (9% to 6%)

3 Review the balance of input between Primary and Secondary Schools – secondary reduced by 6%. (33% to 27%)

  • 4 All presenters to provide synopsis beforehand – little change.

  • 5 Presenters to be encouraged to leave follow-up work/projects for pupils – not achieved.

6 Increase the amount of ‘hands on’ work – better in primary than in secondary.

7 Better utilisation of the school timetable framework – times adjusted by presenters to suit schools, when requested

8 Improve public awareness of the events – some press and radio coverage prior to events, but still not great public awareness.

    1. Competition for Year 11 pupils – successfully achieved and to be repeated this year – July 4 at Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars.

    Objectives for 2000/2001:

To be established following Annual Review Meeting with participants - to be held on 11 May 2000.
