"Design and Make" Competition 2001

On 12th July 2001 fifteen GCSE and three A level students took part in our competition held at Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars to celebrate the skills of young people.

Entries ranged from an electronic lottery number machine through a stylish coffee table to a seat for the disabled. Judges J.Morley from MMU and M.Stubbs from Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars stated that all the entries were of a high standard and there was almost nothing to choose between first and second.

First GCSE prize, kindly donated by Rolls Royce and Bentley Motor Cars, was won by Victoria Nahabedian from St Thomas More school with her original croquet equipment carrier. Second prize, donated by South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, was won by Lyndsey Yarwood of Sandbach Girls.

Both prizes in the A level section were donated by SET UP Science and were won by Richard Palin and Stuart Proud from Alsager High.
